Hands-on experimentation across aerodynamics, structural mechanics, dynamics, and controls — Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Five wind tunnel experiments spanning subsonic characterization, external flow over cylinders and airfoils, force and moment measurement on a canard-delta wing, and supersonic Schlieren imaging. Conducted in AE 315 at ERAU, Spring 2025, using pitot probes, pressure taps, a six-component force balance, and optical flow visualization.
Experimental investigation of dynamic systems and closed-loop control design. Labs cover system identification, controller tuning, and performance evaluation of physical test rigs including motor-driven and electromechanical platforms. Results are compared against simulation models developed in MATLAB and Simulink.
Hands-on structural testing and sensor-based data acquisition covering material characterization, load-deflection behavior, and failure analysis. Labs include strain gauge instrumentation, calibration procedures, and experimental validation of structural models under static and dynamic loading conditions.
